I am a second year HCI student from Seattle, WA. Before coming to SI, I was a travel bum (in Central Europe) and before that I was a Philosophy and English Literature major.

I am in interested in e-communities for a number of differenent reasons, but one of them is because of my longstanding interest in the social nature of learning--in particular, how individual members of virtual communities learn from each other, and how the community as a whole learns and remembers.

Tapped In is an online learning environment created by SRI International to transform teacher professional development (TPD) for professional development providers and educators. Through Tapped In, educators can extend their professional growth beyond (physical) courses or workshops with the online tools, resources, colleagues, and support they need to implement effective, classroom-centered learning activities.
