In my last semester now at UM, closing in on graduation in April with a masters in Archives and Records Management.

My background is in medieval history, and I spent several years working as a buyer for one of the book chains, which was an interesting experience in many ways (just ask me sometime). Now I'm hoping to move on to a career in archives.

Milliways Bar is a "pan-fandom LiveJournal community." It takes the idea of fan fiction and adapts it into an rpg setting. While this may raise questions about copyright and fair-use, my project will concentrate more on how the community evolved and responded to various problems as it grew. I'm also curious about how people crafted their online identities for the rpg, since this involved a negotiation between their own personalities and the creations of other people.
